Infern\u00f2t tells the story of Italian folk music and the city where it found its centre: Turin.
\nAt the heart of this centre is the FolkClub.
\nThe texts by Jacopo Tomatis, Franco Luc\u00e0, Marco Bertozzi, Franco Rosso and Paolo Luc\u00e0 contribute
\nto tracing events, indicating places, and recalling the names of folk music in Italy, including through historical memories,
\nsome of which are unpublished and personal.
\nAll of this contributes to creating a context in which Elia Romanelli’s film is set.
\nA documentary in which the history of Italian folk music is intertwined with the history of a place where
\nthis genre and its authors have been meeting for more than thirty years.
\nThe place is an underground and therefore dark room, which was a cellar and then an air-raid shelter, then a
\ncellar again and now a club. Here, on a small stage in Turin, a genre is defined and, by playing it,\u00a0\u00a0is given a past and a present. Among the words of those who know its theory and roots, and the notes of those who have
\nthe courage to bring ancient instruments and voices into a future yet to be discovered.\n
