Description
This anthology brings together a careful selection of folk songs from Val d’Incarojo, in Carnia, in the upper Friuli region. The cjants, performed in the Carnic-Paularina variant of the Friulian language, mostly follow the form of the Friulian villotta and deal with various topics, from lullabies to work and emigration songs, nursery rhymes, religious and epiphanic songs, mocking songs, love songs, work songs and emigration songs.
Alessio Screm holds an international PhD in musicology and a second degree in Culture et médiation des arts du spectacle from the Université François Rabelais de Tours. He is currently working on his thesis for a third master’s degree in Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. He is a lecturer, writer, journalist, author and RAI presenter.
