Description
Licia Bearzi (1914-1988) was a particularly active figure, albeit in a discreet manner, in the life of Tarcento for almost a century. An animator at various times of the two main folk groups in the area, she was particularly committed to teaching dance to the younger generations.
Monika Pascolo wanted to reconstruct her life, starting from her personal experience, through the events in which she played a leading role and the many private testimonies she collected.
Without knowing it, the author has become the collector of a collective narrative made up of memories, photographs and fragments of stories that convey not only the significant profile of a person but also the common feeling of events, experiences, feelings and memories that reflect an entire community.
Monika Pascolo, from Tarcento, is editor of the diocesan weekly magazine “La Vita Cattolica” and collaborates with Radio Spazio. She began writing for the daily newspaper “Il Gazzettino” at the age of 19. Over time, she has contributed to various publications. She does not like to talk about herself, but rather to tell the stories of others. In 2017, 2019 and 2021, she won the national journalism competition “Premio Simona Cigana” for her stories about artisans and sportspeople.
