Welcome to PIAZZA APERTA: open to all music, encounters, stories, every passage and mixture, in the sun or in the Ponentino, that light wind coming from the sea and so often sung about in Rome!
With this album, our band LA BUONASERA invites you to southern Italy, a south that sings and enchants. A vocal and instrumental journey guided by ten compositions by Xavier, inspired by traditional Italian musical universes, which we have studied and practised for many years. Three songs collected in the field complete the sound journey.
From Rome, travelling further and further south… through the sounds and poetry of dialects, we pass through Naples, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily, and on to Sardinia. This project is about the desire to come together, to share music that is inventive, joyful, poetic or sometimes playful, but always touches the heart. The voices can be popular, natural or evocative of bel canto, reflecting the multiplicity of Italian cultural identities. And the three instruments – violin, double bass and guitar – also express themselves like popular singers and songs: with the poetry and attitude that music anchored in its function in everyday life can have.

PIAZZA APERTA is an encounter, a dialogue. It is the place where Germana and Xavier have decided to stay, sing and dance. It is a warm place by day, intimate by night, ancient but ready for new changes. It is a sound that animates and tells a story.
