Description
These simple memories are the story of a passion and a friendship, often experienced together and intertwined. A passion for a place, a mountain, a rock face on which most of the author’s now distant mountaineering “exploits” were concentrated and achieved. That place, near the Fusine lakes, at the foot of Piccolo Mangart di Coritenza, was home.
A passion born and nurtured alongside a great friendship that was at once a stimulus, a sharing and a reflection.
Now that old age has brought separation from loved ones and illness, the author has retraced some of his steps, reconnecting the threads of his existence, recounting what still lives in his heart because the past is not lost, because the past is an integral part of us, of who we are now, of all the great joy that still animates our existence.
Giuseppe Murtas was born in Arbus (CA) in 1954. He moved to Friuli at the age of 7 and developed a passion for mountaineering at a young age, which marked his life for a period of 10 years. Following a serious accident in the mountains, he gave up the activity, which had nevertheless been a real school of life. Currently suffering from Parkinson’s disease, he has found in his past experiences the strength to take on new challenges.
