Description
Ettore Castagna, anthropologist, musician and researcher, has been working on the lyre of Calabria since 1980. A pupil of the last masters of the peasant and pastoral world, he re-proposes, between philology and personal reworking, the most ancient ways of playing this instrument. The lyre, the Byzantine violin, is a bowed string instrument widespread throughout the territory of the old Eastern Empire.
